This set was shot a while ago, but I didn't have a chance to share. I was asked to model for a school project of my photographer friend Merissa. The main purpose was to create an editorial photoshoot with a concept emphasizing dark theme and lots of action. We went with dark make up with red lips and wearing heels to create a sense of being "tall and powerful".
We shot a couple of outfits, and this is the first set of them. Although it was my first time working with her, I super-enjoyed her photographing me -- an amazing photographer, I have to say!

My styling for the first outfit is to achieve the combination of past, modern and future.  The checkerboard dress emphasizes the 60's vibe and is paired with knee high socks and platform heels to embrace the modern. I finalized this look with hair ponytailed on the top hanging down over my face which worked well as I focused on posing. As she pressed the shutter, I tried to embody a sense action and movement, bringing in some unnatural, awkward poses to give a surreal, modern tension.

I hope you enjoyed the first editorial photos and stay tuned for the others which are totally different  and just as exciting!

Have a nice day ;)

Hi LOVEs! Happy Monday <3
How was your weekend? In Seattle, we have been having super nice weather for the last several days and it's been amazingly beautiful, especially when the sun sets. Also we Seattleites are all still super-hyped about the recent Seahawks win against the 49ers that has us headed to Super Bowl!!!! :)
My weekend was pretty nice, too! I had a great day at work, and my friend came over to my place. Our time together was both encouraging and inspiring for both of us. You know, girl talk always helps to cheer me up and get a load off my chest.
Oh by the way...I can't believe that January is almost over!!  I gotta get those winter styles in before it turns to spring!

How do you feel about wearing an all-gray outfit? To me.... HECK YES!!! If you know me well or have followed me for a long time, you know that I loooooooooove wearing colors!!!! So you might not have guessed that I would got for an outfit that didn't feature lots of bright colors. In fact, I don't think I had ever tried out an all-monotone look before today's outfit. But I must say that it works!
Now, the color of gray isn't a color you might associate with "impact", but it is essential to have some gray basics in your wardrobe such as a sweater, coat, blazer, trousers, hats, or even shoes! If you incorporate it into your outfits you can effortlessly create classic and sophisticated looks. You can even update your outfits by adding a touch of gray, as well! I believe that you've seen tons of fashionistas/fashionistos in the world wearing grays throughout the last year, and they fashionably manged to style them! I was completely fascinated and inspired by how well they dressed in grays, and I really wanted to add the color to my ensemble. Boom! Here is what I have achieved!!

I can't help but saying I love this look so much! I put it together with basic items. However, the whole outfit shows the power of gray! This awesome long knit jacket from NOWiSTYLE is one of my favorites this season! It's incredibly warm and so trendy!! Due to my short height, I am kind of hesitant to wear long-length clothes, but this is a total exception! You know what I meant?! I completed the look pairing these Charlotte Russe spiked lace-up booties (These are crazy, aren't they?), ebay a fringed leather bag, and H&M mirror aviator sunglasses to give a touch of that 'rock star' vibe..
The monochromatic looks are still going strong in 2014; I can't wait to rock them in my spring looks! In addition to that, I am completely excited to buy some pastel clothes and accessories to prepare for spring and combining them with gray! I already know what to purchase! hehe

Have a great week sweeties! ♥

Hi LOVEs!

If you live in a comparatively cold area, what kind of outfit could you choose that keeps you warm and snug while still being stylist? One of the outfit options could be to throw on a turtleneck. Don't you agree?

You see, turtlenecks definitely offer plenty of great styling opportunities -- they work when simply layering, they can be your featured statement piece, they can be paired with some head-tuner accessories, etc.... Now that's a flexible yet stylish piece of clothing!

I personally was not a big fan of the turtleneck, but I noted that they are currently one of the big hits this season. So I decided to try one out and incorporate it into an outfit. Guess what? I have been converted! Especially when the turtleneck is as fabulous as this oversized stripe knit is! I like the grey and blue combo, which is a pretty rare combination to me! This knit is actually REALLY oversized for me, so I tied it up around my waist with a beaded belt to make it a bit more fitting. Since I wanted to go for a playful yet intellectual look, I styled it up with a pair of fake glasses (my favorite one, btw!) and a bun. I couldn't resist adding a sense of edginess by wearing

these killer studded boots from

JustFab.com

! This knit itself is quite warm. However, I finished the look with a patterned scarf so that I could be extra cozy :)

How will you be wearing turtlenecks this season?

I hope you like my turtleneck ensemble and stay tuned for other looks featuring turtlenecks!

Enjoy your day

Hi LOVEs! Happy Monday :))) Did you all have a wonderful weekend??
Last Friday I went to my friend's farewell party. It was such a blast <3 Not only did I met tons of new  people, we partied and had an amazing time until freaking 7am!!!! She is from Taiwan. We don't get to hang out all the time, but we both know we are good friends. She has been supporting my fashion and dreams for a while and whenever she sees me, she always gives me lots of compliments on my outfit! We always end up talking about old fond memories, and  how we've both grown up since then...
You know, I love living in America because I know my life belongs here. I feel like the dreams I have only make since in America. Nonetheless, one of the hardest moments is saying good bye to my beloved friends that leave/will leave the states. I never get used to that. Anyway, I was so pleased to see her for the first time in a long time. Especially right before she is moving back. I wish her all the best because she also has her dreams in Japan!!!! :)

I believe that you are very familiar with this fabulously amazing jumper!! It's one of the popular collection pieces from Isabel Marant x H&M last year. Ever since I've brought this one, I've never stopped loving it!! haha
This jumper is seriously a standout winter essential. It looks warm and cozy while being extremely stylish! I paired it with a denim mini skirt and leopard boots, for a more casual look. If you have seen my fall/winter outfits, you might notice that my outfits can't be completed without HATS! I am kinda sad that it covers up the saved side though. This lovely navy military cap is also my pickup from the collection, and I am so in love with it! Just the hat itself has the french vibe. So adding it to any outfit can effortlessly upgrade your look.
Don't shy away from the pastel colors this season!! Pastel pink is my current obsession! With it, I added just right amount of the sweetness to my bag, and a different pink to my lippie.
I really like this look because it combines both casual and chic feeling in it!

Hope your new week is going well!
As always thanks for stopping by!

Hi LOVEs!
After I shaved the side of my hair (which has been a liberating fashion adventure for me!! ), I've shown a tendency to wear more 'cool' and 'edgy' clothes that complement my hair style. But when I came across this so girly-inspired quilted skirt at Forever 21, my inner feminine spirit just had to be appeased, and I bought it without hesitation. Since I went with the skirt, then how about a nice sweater? This one from NOWiSTYLE is just right, since fuzzy knits are very on right now. They are so cozy and warm. But most importantly, they are strikingly eye-catching! And this white sweet knit with its super lovely details around the shoulder is such an irresistible piece. While it keeps you warm, that details add a touch of sex appeal without having to actually cover your neck during the frigid weather!!!

To elevate the girly vibe, I paired these burgundy velvet knee-high boots to the skirt's red rose prints, which really ties the look together. These boots actually could be worn in another way by folding the top hems. However, for this look the folded hem just didn't work, so I went with the straight boots and for a touch of cuteness I did DIY which I added the little lace-up details on the back. I am truly glad with the result because they look cuter from both front and back!

I believe that this outfit is adequately cute without a coat. But if you need a coat, I also am very fond of this leopard coat and fur collar scarf. Red (boots) and leopard prints are definitely one of my favorite combos. The Rebecca Minkoff Tote Mini is a simple but wonderful accessory, especially the way I slung it across my body, for a sophisticated finish.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day

"LOVE" is Everywhere

'LOVE' PRINTED DRESS - Cutout Neck Printed Midi Dress: c/o Charlotte Russe

One of my favorite words in this entire universe is "LOVE". And not just because it is party of my Japanese name. This world could not work without LOVE, and it is a common sentiment that all humans share across the world, right?

When the awesome

Charlotte Russe

team sent me this

LOVEly dress

, I was just speechless. This is so me, and I'd been looking for a monochrome one-of-a-kind dress for a long time. Not only do the "LOVE" graffiti prints make this dress stand out, the cutout along the neck and slit sides are inviting, flattering and so... wow! I love any dress offering details that elevate sex appeal. On top of that, the dress is winter-appropriate because it offers long-sleeves. That means I don't have to freeze in this Seattle cold weather in the name of good style. This dress can be presented  in a multitude of ways. Of course you can wear it simply as it is, just like how I did here. You can add a bit more and layer it up with a chunky knit over the dress. You could also use the upper part as a top and put on any type of bottoms. This bodycon dress is by far an absolute statement piece.

I kept the black and white theme going on by paring it with black sheer tights and my new

ALDO

leather booties

, which I adore so much! To be honest with you, they are a bit uncomfortable, and I can't walk for a long time in them. Even still, I wear them occasionally due to their beautiful leather texture and fantastic side view. I chose a

H&M

cropped biker jacket and wrapped up in a

Forever 21

oversized scarf to bundle up. They work together to create an edgier look.

I've been in love with this

Rebecca Minkoff

M.A.B Tote Mini

that I've given as a Christmas gift. The fabric is insanely cool and it has two different faces in the back and front. Either with or without the strap, it is such a fantastic go-to-bag!

Happy Friday

Hi LOVEs!!!! When you were a little kid, where was the funnest place in the world for you? The zoo? An amusement park? Perhaps an aquarium? I think many of you would agree with me when I say that for me it was 'Disney Land'!!!! Unfortunately, I didn't have many chances to go there whether young or old, but even still Mickey is one of my all-time favorite characters, and he is popular around the world!

On a recent trip to Forever 21, I was super duper happy because I finally, FINALLY found the ideal and cutest Mickey sweater I had been looking for! This sweater has become my best holiday sweater yet, and the print with its variety of Mickey  faces is really what makes this sweater!!!! It's not too kiddy, but pretty enough to catch the eyes. For winter, you need a statement sweater, and this sweater should no doubt be ranked in.

I paired it with my new camel round skirt c/o NOWiSTYLE and then slipped on my TOPSHOP pink gold heels to emphasize my girly theme. Whenever I want to go for a feminine style, I have a tendency to style up with a beret ( I have more than 5!!!!) just like today's post. If you don't have a time to style your hair,  throwing a beret hat only takes a few seconds to give your look a smattering of sophistication! When it's a little cold for just a sweater alone, I like to throw on this tartan check peacoat. Anytime I want to add a bit of color to brighten my look, some colored outwear is the perfect item for the solution.

So...do you have any Mickey motif items?
Happy Monday ♥

HAPPY NEW YEARS 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi LOVEs!
How was your New Year's Eve & Day?? I really hope you had a wonderful and exciting time!!
Thank you very much for your big support and love for my fashion last year! There were a lot of times that I would have given up on my dreams, but your continuous support saved me countless times! :) I will keep doing my best to give you wow photos and share my 'unique' style continuously in 2014!!!!

My first outfit is all about what I adore. A white faux fur coat, houndstooth leggings, a Kate Spade bag, and suspenders <3 I already have a few faux fur coats but didn't have a white one, and you have no idea how much I love my new one c/o NOWiSTYLE. Although it's a plain design, this coat is super fab and amazingly warm, and once you put it on, you can instantly create a chic vibe. As you may notice, this coat doesn't have either snaps or zippers so I used my belt with an awesome gold buckle to tighten around my waist. I have shorter legs, and this easy and small twist creates magic to make my legs longer and to balance out my height!

How amazing are these houndstooth leggings?  Handstooth prints are one of the must-haves for winter, and this leggings are just so perfect. If you get bored with a regular look, just adding or switching to any hounds tooth item would change your whole look, making it more trendy and eye-catchy! Another piece I definitely can't resist is suspenders. They are absolutely one of my current obsessions! I can say that this look wouldn't have been completed if suspenders were not worn. Don't you agree?? And I didn't wear them attached straight from the leggings because I wanted to wear them loosely to be a playful looking. I think I could say that the studded collar necklace adds an extra subtle essence to my look as well!
Of course, my favorite Kate Spade bag always severs as an outfit's standout piece thanks to its color and leather texture!

Have a lovely weekend!!!!
