This set was shot a while ago, but I didn't have a chance to share. I was asked to model for a school project of my photographer friend Merissa. The main purpose was to create an editorial photoshoot with a concept emphasizing dark theme and lots of action. We went with dark make up with red lips and wearing heels to create a sense of being "tall and powerful".
We shot a couple of outfits, and this is the first set of them. Although it was my first time working with her, I super-enjoyed her photographing me -- an amazing photographer, I have to say!

My styling for the first outfit is to achieve the combination of past, modern and future.  The checkerboard dress emphasizes the 60's vibe and is paired with knee high socks and platform heels to embrace the modern. I finalized this look with hair ponytailed on the top hanging down over my face which worked well as I focused on posing. As she pressed the shutter, I tried to embody a sense action and movement, bringing in some unnatural, awkward poses to give a surreal, modern tension.

I hope you enjoyed the first editorial photos and stay tuned for the others which are totally different  and just as exciting!

Have a nice day ;)

Hi my LOVEly readers! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My last week was pretty busy but really satisfying with launch/reception parties, photoshooting, and some work! ( My Sundays are typically a work day! ) The weather over the weekends was really killer as well! I love doing a photoshoot on such A M A Z I N G sunny day!

My current obession centers on GRUNGE and PLAID trends! What an cool and bold trend, isn't it? Purple is one of my favorite colors in addition to red, and I've had this flannel oversized shirt from Forever 21 for years. I am glad I've kept it around! I wanted to add an 90's touch, so I paired it up with a wide brimmed fedora and high-waist shorts. Layering triple necklaces plus over-accessorizing clearly adds a distinctive effect to the look, and I buttoned the shirt only partway to showcase the lacy bralet and add a seductive tone to the outfit as well. Finally, I had to add my ZOE boots to create a touch of wild!  They are amazingly fabulous and always give an extra playful touch to my look because of their eye-catchy designs!

This whole look is also about the makeup. I finally got this dark purple lip stick at MAC, which color is definitely a must-have this year to easily achieve a grunge look. I picked

MAC Satin Cyber

. I totally adore the color, even though I was sort of afraid whether the color would look good on me or not... However, any doubt was gone right after I applied it to tryout! I am so flattered to have the color now! This fall I really wanna try other colors as well! :) What color should I go for?

I hope you like/love my first grunge look and make up!!!!!

Hi LOVEly readers! It's been a while huh? I am very sorry! I took an awesome trip to LA and Las Vegas for a few days last week! It's been almost 3 years since I last visited LA, and it was my first time to go to Vegas!!!! I had a very memorable and enjoyable trip! I met up for the first time with a few sweet girls from IG (btw, follow my IG @aikaslovecloset, if you haven't yet!), and I was finally able to visit my friend's store in LA, called Moods of Norway!!!! I hope to write a future blog about this adventure because I'd like to share my awesome trip with you! :)

This look is DEFINITELY one of my favorites from this summer's looks! This camo print skirt is one of the pleasant pieces that I received in my recent Charlotte Russe care package, and I just fell in love with this skirt. How could I not? Camo prints are still hot right now, and I really love how cute this skirt is!!!! I might have bought camo print pants or tops, but I never thought of a skirt! Camo prints tend to create more of an edgy or funky vibe, but this skirt doesn't lose its sweet and endearing style! So, I decided to style it up with a lovely crop top and a baby pink cardigan to accentuate the sweetness even more. I believe that this outfit looks great with OR without the cardigan! As I found out before in my precious other camo look, the combination of red with camo prints is such a great match. Without a doubt, this crop top and camo skirt  go perfectly together!

To top if off, I mixed it up with studded detail sandals from ALDO (I love them so much!), black folded clutch, and the round mirrored sunglasses from Free People. By adding these three items, I toned things down and infused a touch of sassy without taking away from the overall sweetness of the outfit.

You can still get this camo skirt at the Charlotte Russe online store!
Now you can buy it at $4.49; original price was $10.99! What a deal!!!!
Don't miss it! You'll love it!

Thank you very much for the awesome camo skirt, CR!!!! I am in love with it so much! <3

Hope you like/love this sweet camo look!

Hi lovely readers!
I hope you guys have enjoyed the last two striped shirt looks showcased on my blog previously! Today's is the last one in the series, and it is still hard for me to chose which look is my favorite... Can you? lol
Well, there is definitely one thing I can confidently say, though:
"Striped items are very fun to style up and super trendy.
On top of that, they make absolutely versatile piece as well!!!"

This time around, I tried to achieve a modern 90's formal look. I paired the shirt up with a neon sky-blue tulip skirt because you need a dash of conspicuous color to pull off a 90's vibe. Then, I tucked the shirt in so that it adds that air of sophistication. To enhance the look further, I mixed up with some ankle socks (Actually these socks are knee-length, but I pushed them down to the ankle.) and wore a pair of refined off-gold pumps.
If you have rounded sunglasses, simply put them on to make a easy 90's or retro look! You see from the photos that when I am wearing my BLACK MISS BROOKS SUNGLASSES from Free People, it totally completes my 90's outfit. Don't you agree?
When it came to styling my hair, I slightly curled it (including my bangs) and brought it to the side. Then I covered the hair tie by winding with a small bundle of my hair around it.

I completely DIG these sunglasses because I looooooooooove over-sized sunnies. There are so many varieties in Japan, but not so many in here in Seattle unfortunately... The roundness of these sunglasses really complements my face since I consider myself to have a pretty large face, and they really help my face to appear smaller (which is very important to me!) I also think that hese types of sunglasses can fit any type of faces, so I should say these are a MUST-HAVE!

Hopefully, you've enjoyed ALL three striped shirt looks (The first look HERE & the second look HERE), and please comment below to tell me which one of the 3 is your favorite! :)
