Hi LOVEs! Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Did you have a good one? I actually had a lot of fun things going on for  my weekend! I kicked off the weekend on Saturday by attending my first blogger brunch event at MOTIF in Downtown, I met and connected with several lovely fellow local bloggers, and went home with a super sweet swag bag filled with an ELLE magazine, beauty goodies and testers, and a flawless snakeskin printed clutch bag!! I spent my Sunday with my bestie getting some yummy sushi, doing a little shopping Downtown, and we ended our day enjoying some FroYo! He's been like my brother ever since I first came here to attend school. It is always so refreshing to catch up with old friends who feel like family. It is especially important to me since my own family and good friends are far away (in Japan), so this time spent together was more than simply an enjoyable time! It was crazy busy last week, so I was so happy to recharge and prepare for another busy week! (I hope it won't be as busy as last week, though!)

As much as I am a huge lover of hats and shoes, I am a big collector of scarves! When we welcome fall and winter, it's so crucial to be able to dress cozy while remaining stylish! Scarves are one of the key essentials to help you easily achieve that goal. Sometimes they even turn out to be a statement piece for your outfit! There are tons of options in varying colors, designs, and fabrics! One day I would love to go shopping just to find a few perfect scarves for the season! It would be so much fun!

I think a lot of people tend to go for darker colors as the temperature is dropping, and so do I! But dark colors can be subdued and muted, so I always find myself adding sass with a bit of color! After I dressed in some of my favorite black pieces from my closet, I complimented the look by adding a plaid scarf for a pop of color and playfulness! I really love how the scarf is so versatile in styling and how each one looks slightly different from another. You might be seeing a lot more of me rocking all-black ensembles with different types of scarves! haha

I hope you like today's look!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hi LOVEs!! Happy Veterans Day!
Hope you kicked off the new week super fabulously!
I don't know if I have ever mentioned it, but I have always been into mens-inspired looks and girl-meets-boy mixups. Unfortunately, I haven't had enough opportunities to show such styles to you (at least not as much as I want), so here you go!

I scored this amazing oversized blazer at Buffalo Exchange last year, and it's been my ultimate favorite during this time of the year. It helps me easily achieve a sophisticated look as soon as I throw it on. I am super petite with narrow shoulders, which makes it difficult to find an ideal blazer that is well-fitting, especially when it comes to an oversized one. So I am glad to have this one and I will keep it forever in my closet! This look was styled with my old wardrobe, which proves that you don't have to get new things to create an on-trend look!
To pull off this masculine-inspired look, I just combines with classic staple items together: white shirt, skinny jeans, and lace-up heels. Oh, and you can't forget to add a fedora hat to compliment the look. That's what makes this look polished! You could swap these heels for a pair of oxford or ankle boots for even more tomboy effect. I personally love mixing things up with heels to add some height to my look. (Just because I really don't want to look short and it's important to make up for my short legs!!!) A few things I always keep in mind when I go for man-like looks is not to forget to add a hint of feminine touch. So this time, I topped off with statement earrings, a pop of red lips and a lavender bag.

I seriously need to start hunting for more cute fedoras to wear this season! Any recommendations of where to shop at?
Have a good one, lovelies ♥

Hi LOVEs!

A couple of posts ago, I wore a lovely heart printed sweater that my mom gave me as a surprise gift while she was visiting me in September. Now, do you remember I mentioned then that I was going to show you another cute heart print top that she gifted me? I am very excited to finally share it with you in today's post!!

I am the type of girl who easily becomes obsessed with anything that is super adorable and eye-catching, and this heart print blouse is no exception. The texture is very soft and silky, the cut is easy-fitting, and the burgundy color makes this blouse look oh so elegant -- it is surely a perfect piece for the season. It's always good to have a blouse in your wardrobe that can be worn for both work and play, and this one is so versatile, as it can easily be dressed up or down.

For today's look, I went with a slightly dressed up ensemble by pairing it with my favorite skirt and a combination of ankle socks and pointy pumps. Still, I wanted to keep it as an any-day look, so I added two pieces to tone things down: a beanie and a pair of fake glasses. Although curled hair with a beanie and fake glasses are really easy to achieve, the results are very pretty! I have so many beanies and glasses in my closet. I guess I will do this combo over and over by switching them around!

I would love to make an outfit in the future to layer with this blouse! Hope I can come up with another cutesy autumn look! Any suggestions??

Now on to the special celebration! As I stated in the previous post, today is my BIRTHDAY~!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I can' believe that I turned into 28 today, which means only 2 more years until I hit 30! I feel as if I am still 22, though! I am not like a kid who wishes to grow up faster, but I am not afraid of aging any more. Some people complain how old they are or will become, but as long as you love yourself, age doesn't matter, and it's never too late to start new things no matter how old you are! Yes, there are more things to watch out for as you age, such as paying attention to eat healthier food, providing deep care for your skin, or getting adequate sleep to keep your energy levels high. But each day is an opportunity to make yourself better!  I personally think that after I passed 25 years, I feel happier inside even though I have to face many obstacles. I can think in a more mature way, I know what I want and don't want in my life, and most importantly I am now aware of how to make myself happy and smile! My 27th year was all about new beginnings, especially because I started to take my fashion more seriously and that has introduced me to a whole new world! Thank you all so much for the endless love and support you've given to me. You guys are my precious support to push me to go further! I hope my new year will be filled with lots of new adventures, new experiences and exciting news, and will keep smiling no matter what!

Only 3 Days Left! ALEXANDER WANG x H&M

Hi LOVEs!
Now that fun and spooky Halloween is over. Was it crazy? I hope so! BUT in the fashion world, the excitement is still continued and even gets higher just because a long-awaited collection will be launched in only 3 days!!!!!
Who's more thrilled about ALEXANDER WANG x H&M collection than I am!?
Personally, around this time is by far one of the most exciting moments of the year!!!!! First, November 4th, which is tomorrow, is my birthday. Second, fall is my most favorite season. Third, my top favorite brand, H&M collaborates with an worldwide noted amazing brand for a new collection and it launches a few days after my birthday! Ever since the collection has been announced, fashion folks of course including me have been dying to catch a glimpse of the designs and itching to get their hands on the extraordinary pieces for their fall wardrobes. The collection is just so impressive with the sporty-inspired patterns, and I can't get over the epic, too-cool collection. Now, H&M has released all the items with pricing and details, and here are my picks and they definitely go to my shopping list this Thursday! (Click the image to jump to the H&M site for the details!)

I am not planning to get my hands on all of the above, but absolutely some of them. The boots and the crop sweater for sure!!!!!!

I'd like to share some tips on how to shop the collection this Thursday in Seattle store, based on my experience last year for Isabel Marant collection.

Where to Shop It:
H&M Downtwon Store
520 Pike Street, Seattle WA 98101
< Or store locater here >

When to Go:
When it comes to the exclusive collaborative collection, stores will open their doors at 8 am. H&M will be doing their bracelet system again, where the first 420 shoppers in line at the store will be provided a colored bracelet denoting what time they'll be able to shop. BUT don't get there like 15 mins before the doors open. Guess what time I arrived last year? THREE AM IN THE MORNING!!!! and I was the 10th one on the first batch, however, I wasn't able to grab what I really wanted, so I highly recommend to arrive the store before three if you don't wanna miss anything!
Groups of 30 will be given only 15 mins to shop, so do some homework for what you really want to get!

Other Info
You are limited to buy the same products up to 2, and you have SEVEN DAYS from your purchase date to return for a full refund with your original receipt, none of the accessories is returnable.
It will be a long waiting and freezing, so get cozy with an blanket and bring an extra scarf or sheet to spread under the butt while waiting, and don't catch a cold lol. Go with someone who has a car or live close by. That way you can keep unnecessary things (blankets, books, etc...) in there, and you are ready for the shopping survival!

Hopefully, these tips are helpful to you and I can't wait to show you what I get from the collection!!!
Happy shopping ♥

Hi LOVEs!

First and foremost, I wanted to give a big thank you to my friend - Marcus - for photographing me lately to help me out. He is my old friend from my collage and I met him 5 years ago. I am so pleased we connected again after not talking for nearly 4 years! He is my main photographer now, and I am quite impressed with his photography skills although he has never done with fashion photoshoot because photography to him is a hobby and his focus is more nature and animals. I am delighted I was a trigger to expanded his photography expertise, and I hope working with me will help him improve that.

You know, if you are a fashion blogger and you have no one to take photos of your looks, that would be a crucial matter. Even if you do have the person, it could be another issue when he or she is seemingly uncomfortable to work with. I had been struggling with those difficulties, but he definitely saved me a lot. And he more impressed me as we work together because of the amazing results he creates!

I was more than happy that we ended up choosing the best location for our first shoot. Look at the insanely spectacular sunset... I've never ran into this amazing golden hour in Seattle. Plus we captured it during the photoshoot. It's double yays! I think you know that feeling like "I am so thankful for everything right now" whenever you witness the sunset. It even strengthens the feeling that "I am so glad I am alive and I can feel it from the bottom of my heart."

My life has been very tough. I believe I am not the only one who says that. However, I really appreciate I've encountered countless moments of little happiness like this. Instead of complaining how hard your life is, it's definitely worth and you can make better life if you try to find anything that makes you happy and smile, and even be appreciative for your pitfalls and struggles. "Pain makes stronger, tears makes you braver, and heartbreaks makes you wiser, so thank the past for a better future." A good thing ALWAYS comes after a bad thing, right?

New autumn season means new knit hunting! I got this

comfiest fuzzy knit last month at

H&M

, and I've been seriously in love with it! The comfortableness is just mind blowing.  No lies, I can sleep in this! I love how this knit could be worn in dress up and dress down. When I attended the Seattle's big fashion show, Downtown Seattle Rocks the Runway,

I styled it up with a lace midi skirt and floral sandals, accessorizing in some gold jewelry

. And this time I wanted to go for a laid back style to enjoy the beautiful sunny day so I chose leggings and gold pointy pumps. To me, paying a little attention to add some accessories is a key to polish a look. I can't walk out the door without a single accessory forgotten. I appreciate that mixing in gold jewelry offers the right amount of accent to this simple look, and even looked better with the gold sky.

Happy Tuesday sweet pies!

Hi LOVEs!
Yay! Weekend is finally here!
Today's post is going to be short and sweet. When I was looking through the pictures from fabulous Fashion Week for the last few months, Eva Chen's black and white number print dress really caught my eyes and right on time I found a similar dress on Ami Clubwear. (Unfortunately it's sold out :( ) The print is just awesomely unique, yet head-turner, isn't it?! I always can't take my eyes off anything with amazing prints and details! My style is all about uniqueness, and this dress definitely embodies that feature. Even though this is a bodycon dress, which is considered to be worn for nigh out, I wanted to create a day look with it. So I simply paired it with this awesome pastel biker jacket and a white clutch bag with inspiring quotes on the both side. Since the print makes the dress edgy and cool, I went with stunning faux leather booties, also courtesy of Ami Clubwear, to complete the look. I extremely adore the details all over the shoes, especially the heel part!

It could be fun to style up the dress in a different way with a chunky knit, sheer tights, and killer booties for another day look!

Happy weekend everyone!

Hi LOVEs!
If you know me well enough, you know I love playing around with prints and bright colors. However, ever since this season's trends have been revealed, I have recognized that impact of simple and basic items. I just can't stop incorporating them into my daily looks. Today's look is absolutely one of my favorites!

By the way, what are your favorite trends this fall and winter? Of all the hot trends right now, I am obsessed with the pastel and retro feeling from the 60's, and I can't get enough of that 90's classic style. So I decided to combine both in this outfit, and it totally worked out! I recently got this cropped turtleneck sweater from H&M, and it's just so perfect to pull off the 90's vibe instantly. The item has become a staple piece in my wardrobe now. I am literally wearing it right now even as I am writing this!
I paired it with my vintage high-waisted shorts and two new items from Ami Clubwear: yellow pointy toe pumps and a lavender tote mini bag. I love how they give the outfit a 60's vibe, so to emphasize it further I added a pair of ankle socks. The temperature is dropping now, and wearing pumps with bear feet give me a chill. Yet, wearing tights would be too hot and dull during the day. That's why adding a pair of socks is season appropriate and gives you a touch of chicness. Even it helps to upgrade your fall look.

You may have noticed a little change in my hair, huh? Yes, I spontaneously chopped off my hair!!! Haha. Just kidding, instead I found a super easy way to style a bob hair style without cutting off your beautiful hair! Just wear a turtleneck (It's super trendy and snuggling!), and don't pull your hair out from the collar! It doesn't sound like it would work out, so I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it! I really like easy hairstyles that produce a wow factor.

Have a lovely day, cuties!

Hi LOVEs!!!
This is another set of photoshooting I did with Enrique, a Cali photographer, back in August. In the previous post, I shared with you the first one wearing my favorite leopard slip dress from Forever 21. I hope you enjoyed it!  I was very fascinated with how versatile this dress actually is, and I am so excited to show you the completely different way of its styling today!

First of all, I really love this night time setting that can totally go with the vibe this look creates. Edginess, secret, dark side, and wildness. I believe there is more than that. I always love photoshooting at night especially when I am wearing something more of edgy and grunge just because it emphasizes the look. I am very pleased we ended up shooting this look when the sun went down.

I'd been looking for a perfect leopard top for years and didn't realize until now that I didn't need to own an actual top if there is an alternative piece. Save less, style more! To my surprise, the slip dress is successfully turned into a leopard flawless top, and it doesn't look awkward at all.  Even though this ensemble seems very appropriate for summer, it still be wearable for fall when you switch to a chunky knit cardigan and a pair of fall boots, or even adding other fall items such as a scarf.
But this time, I styled it up with staple leather pieces which are always sublime to instantly create an edgier look and with my favorite fall essential, a felt fedora.
Can I talk about a bit of that? If you love a fedora as much as I do, I recommend the way I styled my hair. It's super easy yet tasteful. First, slightly curl your hair including your side bang. Second, make a lower pony tail covering the hair tie with a smattering of the hair around it. Finally, put your favorite fedora on and adjust the pony tail if needed. Very easy, isn't it?

I hope you enjoy all three looks I created with this lovely yet versatile leopard slip dress, and tell me which one you like the most on the comment below!
Enjoy your weekend, beauties!

Hi LOVEs!
I am pretty sure you guys are all so ready for colder weather to layer up by now and so am I of course!!!! I actually started gathering a lot of fall inspirations on my Pinterest and am indulging myself in thinking about what outfits I will be sporting this autumn. However, it's okay to miss the feeling of summer and the fresh cool breeze that my skin enjoys now and then, right? So here you go!
I finally am able to share with you guys one of my favorite end-of-summer photoshoots that I did with a Cali photographer, Enrique. Back in August, he came to visit Seattle for his project and he was looking for someone he could work with during his stay. I am always very thrilled to work with new talented people, so it was a delight to meet him and shoot!
To be honest with you, the photoshoot was by far the quickest one I've ever done. I was quite worried about how the photos would come out, but now the worry is replaced with satisfaction! We shot two outfits, and this one is the first look.

I got this slip dress from Forever 21, and I fell in love with it at first sight. It's effortlessly chic and soft yet sexy. Plus, it's thankfully wallet-friendly! I was really into spaghetti strap/slip dresses all during the summer. The lace-trimmed hem and openly back neckline design on this dress are what I am most fond of, and that what this dress makes so seductive. There are so many ways you can enjoy this dress. Even in fall, you can still wear it with a turtle neck top underneath, a cardigan and tights combination, or a chunky knit over it just like one of the variations I showcase in this post.

I wanted the look to be kind of a laid-back end-of-summer style, so I simply threw on a loose knit over the dress and slipped in my favorite platform sandals, finishing things off with some killer gold jewelry. It was literally a 5-minute look! As I was trying this dress in the fitting room, I figured out that this dress could also be worn as a top like a perfect leopard cami. Then, when I got home, I totally worked it out! So in an coming up post, I will share a look highlighting this dress again, but show it to you as an awesome stylish leopard cami top! Looking forward to it!

Have a lovely day, cuties

Hi LOVEs!

Happy Hump day! Hope your day is going well so far!

I mentioned a few posts back that my parents and grandpa came to visit Seattle last month for the first time ever, and the days I spent with them were incredibly amazing and fun! I was especially happy to see my 79 year old grandpa, who remains so healthy and active, and I was very impressed that he is super adventurous, and a big eater!!!! No wonder he is still full of vitality! I wished they could have stayed longer or that I could have gone back to Japan with them...

My mom and I are very alike. I love giving people a surprise, and I think I inherited that personality trait from my mom.

During my parents' stay we were strolling around downtown Seattle and I saw a very lovely window display at

LOFT

While I looked at the display  I was muttering, "Omg! These heart print tops are so cute!" My mom heard what I said and asked me, "Which ones, which ones? :)" I pointed at the display and added "I can't buy them anyway, so let's go!" We walked away at the time. A few days later, while we were on the way back to their hotel, which was located in DT Settle, my mom told me, "I kinda want to look around the shops, so go ahead to the hotel first..." She refused when I asked to shop together. I wondered why she suddenly wanted to go shopping but rejected me going with her. After 30 mins or so, she came back to the hotel empty handed!  It was very weird that even after she said she wanted to shop she ended up not getting anything at all!

However, she totally tricked me, because she wanted to surprise me at the airpot. As I was seeing them off, my mom handed me a cute bag!! Yes!!!!! It was a gift of those heart printed tops I saw in  the display window the other day!! She also included a Starbucks gift card! I opened the bag when I got home, and needless to say I burst into tears and was full of appreciation and love! I was hugging the clothes with happy tears for a long time.

So that's the sweet story behind this outfit, as I am wearing one of those

heart print tops

that she gifted me. Not to mention, I LOVE THIS SWEATER SO MUCH! Not only because it's a gift from my mom, but because it's also super soft and warm yet effortlessly chic. The heart design is amazingly playful and the sweater's color is my favorite color for fall -- navy. Everything about it is just superb! If I don't have time in the morning but still want to be so stylish, this top is the perfect solution! I throw it on with a skinny and heels, and I am good to go!

I kept it in the same color family by wearing a denim skirt that I DIYed to create a distressed skirt, but I spiced things up with

my new pink fedora

and

metallic lace-up heels

. These ones are my current obsessions right now! The cuteness of the sweater naturally prompted me to do a side fish-braided hair to give extra appealing to the look, and these real stone rings that are also gifts from my mom don't overpower the look, yet they dazzle on my hands!

I will share a look with the other heart print top with you guys soon! Stay tuned!

What's your surprise gifts from your mom that you love at the most?

Feeling Sentimental...

Photographed by Teban S. of Asian Impressions // Alki Beach

Hi LOVEs!
I was planning to post a new look today, but when I was working on it, I accidentally lost everything. So I decided to post some photos I haven't shared yet with you guys today!

Teban is one of the talented photographers I know from Seattle and also has become one of my precious friends now as we have been working together. I always have pleasure and enjoyable time with him whenever we hang out, and he's also been one of the big supporters like my family, giving me a lot of encouragement and cheer. It's definitely a life treasure to have such an amazing friend around you even if you don't know the person for a long time...

During our fun photoshooting in the past, he brought his expired 200 ISO fuji Film as well as his regular camera, and took some pictures with it. At the time, we couldn't check how each picture turned out, but I just love the photos so much and was truly fascinated with how the pictures express very nice artsy and vintage feeling. Even though these ones were taken a few months ago, they make me feel as if from a long time ago like 10 years. I really want to get hands on a film camera now! Maybe I have to request to someone to get me an handy inexpensive film camera for my birthday which is coming next month... haha :)

Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I do

Hi LOVEs! Fall is finally here!
Before I came to the States all by myself - no friends, no relatives - 6 years ago,  I used to easily give up, especially on my dreams. I didn't even try hard to give things a shot. I felt that I couldn't accomplish anything, even if I tried. I didn't have courage and expected that things would only happen if they were meant to be. But you know, that is not right. If you want things to happen, you gotta try and put some effort to make them materialize. After I was here in America on my own for a few years, I slowly yet dynamically changed myself and even my life. I would say it was a 180 degree change.  I became stronger, more courageous, and more ambitious. I gained more self-confidence and I envision that my life is going to be what I want it to be. I try to overcome my fear of doing doing something that might be uncomfortable or that seems to be super new to me.

To be honest with you, it is super hard and tough to pursue my dreams in a foreign country. I've been struggling with many many things and that has brought deep depression on occasion. However, I always strive to push myself to work hard with solid will and strong passion not to be defeated. I am so determined that nothing can stop me. Even though sometimes I amy experience times of negativity, now I feel like I am finally "alive" and I sense that I have my feet on the right path with a clear vision of my destination. Finally, I found how to be "true to myself."
Ever since I decided to pursue my dreams, I have had a lot of mottos in mind to keep myself going, and one of them is definitely... "Don't give up!!!" Although I have had to face innumerable obstacles on the path to chase my dreams, having this quote in my head really helps me to stand up, and as a result I've encountered numerous moments that made me think "This is just too good to be true!" I still can't believe some of the smaller dreams were actually realized already within short periods. Because of that, I can now confidentially say this:
As long as you don't give up, you can make anything happen no matter how long it may take.

With the being said, I am very pleased to get my hands on this tee with such an inspiring quote from Le Motto. I really admire what they believe and what they do:

We believe that words do have power and each tee presents an original personal motto. The fundamental purpose behind the Le Motto Collection is to promote positivity.  With the impact of just a few well-chosen words, it can be enormous! In addition to promoting universal positivity, currently 10% of profits are being allocated to anti-bullying causes.

How amazing is that? Besides the motto I picked, there are more inspirational motto tees available on their site, and of course mens tees are there, too! To style up my tee, I paired it with some major basic items such as a blazer and denim shorts. Yet, it's time to cozy up! I added a rib beanie for a pop of color and a pair of over-the-knee boots! (Oh god, these ones are amazingly comfy, thank you so much Mom!) I finished off by adding a fringe bag for a touch of edginess, and I loved how I rocked it when I folded the bag half and used it as a clutch!

What's is your motto for life?
Thank you very much for stopping by!
