Hi LOVEs! Happy Friday!

One of the fall styles I really adore every season is definitely the poncho. It looks so cozy and effortless, but it always turns out to be a super chic and fall-friendly outfit! Unfortunately, I'd gotten rid of all my ponchos last year because I felt they were sort of old in terms of styles and colors. To make matters worse, all the ponchos I wanted to get or found so far are somewhat expensive, so I had to pass them on... It was so sad...

HOWEVER!!!!! I just found the perfect one, which you can actually turn your favorite scarf into an amazing poncho !

I was wearing this super

cozy grey scarf from

Forever 21

by wrapping it around my neck as usual ( see the picture above, or check it

here

) but this one is actually a big enough to be worn as a poncho with a little easy trick: spread the scarf, drape it over your shoulder and secure it with a belt. How effortless is that? It also helps define your frame!

I am actually kind of surprised that I didn't come up with this idea untill now! I love maximizing the outfit options by using the same piece when it doesn't look like you wear the same clothes.  This trick is practical as you travel to colder places. Packing a scarf should be on the must-bring list, and you can actually make at least 2 looks for 2 days without having extra cozy items!

Underneath of this 'fake' poncho, I simply paired with basic items -- a

black loose top

and

skinny jeans

. I wanted to throw in some color, so I opted for these blue booties again because I have been so obsessed with them!

Putting on a fedora

always gives a great touch of boho vibe. I think you know that, right? And this time it adds up as a nice finishing effect!

What do you think of the idea of making a scarf into a poncho?

I hope you like it as well as how I styled it!

Tomorrow is long-awaited Halloween! What are you guys dressing up as?

Hi LOVEs! Happy Friday!!!

As I describe that my style is versatile, alternative, and unique, it's always so fun for me to work with a brand that I might not go find on my own. I prefer to put heels on wherever I go, however, what if I have an awesome pair of suede boots in my closet? I can stroll around from towns to towns in them because I bet my feet won't kill me!!

I am so pleased to get my hands on

these new boots

from

Cat Foot Wear,

and they are getting ready to launch their new AW15 collection, and this seasons line is all about performance details, with a full range of suede waterproof boots (

that don’t look like waterproof boots!

), along with other wool, faux fur, and thinsulate styles. And, this same theme carried into the men’s collection as well with a full range of wool and waterproof boots, including a collaboration with Gore-Tex which updates the brand’s iconic

Colorado

silhouette in 6 insulated, waterproof colorways.

It was quite hard for me to pick which of their new boots I wanted to style in because there are lots of fun and awesome boots from the new AW collection! These come in leather and suede, and I chose the latter on the spot! Because I am so into the texture right now, I think everyone is, in this season, and I picked dark grey color out of two other colors - black & cafe - since you guys know by now that I love anything in the grey shade!

To style

my boots

, I paired with a

blush fuzzy knit

and

cutoffs

for a super laid-back attire. Whenever I go for casual looks, I try to focus on how I can balance the whole look since I am a very short girl! So accessorizing is the key, and wearing a hat definitely helps to direct the eyes upward! I first opted for a beanie but switched to a

camel wide brimmed hat

because I wanted to add a feminine touch to the look. And side braids gives an extra cuteness along with the hat! I had so much fun shooting these boots at Seattle waterfront, one of my favorite spots for sure!

Hope you like my casual look today! :)

Have a lovely weekend ya'll!

Hi LOVEs!!!!
I apologize that I haven't posted anything for a week... Last week was pretty crazy, and I am so glad this week seems less busy!
I am kind of surprised that I really didn't have a chance to share a look with rompers till now, and you know they are such a perfect alternative piece to a dress and easy-to-wear. Especially the one I am wearing today is super sleek and could be wearable to work with an oversized jacket or blazer! Mine is from StyleMoi - one of my favorite online shopping destination for tons of affordable yet stylish clothing. I really love the cutout and ruffle details on the shoulder, and this romper has actually a lovely looking from the back as well!
To me, rompers are meant to wear during spring and summer because of the light textures, but in fact you can still rock them in the early fall by mixing them up with some fall essentials, like chunky cardigans, boots/booties, hats, and cardigans!
I decided to go for a pair of leopard booties for a pop of prints and then topped it off in a baker boy hat. I styled my hair in a low messy bun to highlight the shoulder details. I adore this hair style so much because it creates an effortless and chic vibe. I bet this will be my go-to fall hairstyle!
I actually wore this playsuit with a boyfriend blazer, but first I wanted to show you guys how cute this romper is without anything over it! I can't wait to show you the look soon because it's more fall appropriate!!

Have a lovely Tuesday, my dolls! ♥

Hi LOVEs! Happy Labor Day!!!!
I will try to make today's post short and sweet because it's a holiday! ;)

I wore this look a week ago when I was hanging out with my friend. I wanted to dress up because it was her birthday, but I only got to sleep for a few hours the day before since it was insanely busy!!! Even though I am a total heal-lover, I couldn't help going for a pair of comfortable shoes that day so that I could save some energy to have fun with her because I knew we were going out for some shopping! lol
Wearing black and white is always so chic and stylish. I used to not be quite in love with this combo. Personally, it felt too simple, yet I am a big fan now!!!! Maybe because I have a pink hair, which is such a great statement accessory especially for a pop of color, I realized that black and white ensembles are NOT simple after all! It's actually an ultimate killer go-to outfit!
For the look, I chose a maxi skirt with side slit styling it with a lace cropped top. These pieces definitely have feminine aspects, so even though I decided to wear low-heeled booties to finish the look, it doesn't look too casual and it is still appropriate for the meet-up with my birthday girl! If you are a short girl like myself, try to opt for boots/booties that are pointy! I know it's always challenging for the shorties to find the right boots, but the design gives you the trick of lean and lengthy legs! That said, I am so pleased to recently get my hands on these awesome booties from Qupid via Charlotte Russe where you can find an amazing selection of pointed ankle boots!!

What do you think about today's casual look? Hope you love it!
Have a lot of fun on your Labor Day! ♥

Hi LOVEs!
It's finally Friday and even better, it's Labor Day Weekend!!! Woot Woot! Do you have any awesome plans, sweeties?
First and foremost, thank you all so very much for the lovely and warm messages on the previous post whether you left them on here or on my social channels. It gives me a lot of courage and smiles, and it's good to know that we are all connected somehow and feel like we are not alone!<3

For the last several days in Seattle, the weather dramatically changed! It has been rainy and the temperature has dropped down like crazy! I wore my first cozy knit yesterday, and I totally wasn't ready for that! I still feel like I haven't checked everything off from my summer to-do list yet! I am really excited to share today's look, because it gives a fun summer vibe!
I got such a cute off-shoulder mini dress with lace sleeve details from New Dress, where you can get everything at extremely affordable prices! I was a little bit disappointed when I received this dress, because it is a bit too long. Well, I think it may be because of me, since I am super petite! haha
As always, I added a black belt to adjust the length, and it actually ended up better looking. It looks like a romper! I opted for a pair of lace-up wedge sandals to create an easy, breezy look.  Thanks to the off-shoulder design and lace elements, I love how the entire look is elevated with a touch of elegance and femininity.
Because of my hair, coordinating myself in monochromatic colors is really captivating me. It was really natural to select black items to finish the look - my all-time favorite brimmed hat and these new sunnies (only $3.05! Can you believe it?!) from NewDress. This look wasn't for a festive theme or anything, but the combination of a faux suede fringe bag and this lace off-shoulder dress is definitely perfect for that occasion! Maybe I can wear it next year?!

Hope that you all have a fun & amazing Labor Day weekend! I am planning on seeing my girl friends from LA, I am so excited! Make sure to follow me along on Instagram & Snapchat (@fashionistaika)!!!

Ciao, cutie pies! ♥

#SummerFridays, Beach Day | boohoo swimwear

It's Friday! Let's celebrate, let's have some fun!

Hi LOVEs! Happy FriYay!
Whenever your favorite brand reaches out to you for some collaboration, you just can't believe it and you feel as if you were still in the dream or something. Well that happened to me when boohoo emailed me regarding this awesome campaign "Celebrating #SummerFridays"!!!!!

#SummerFridays is an extension from their new #WeAreUSA campaign which is about celebrating the unique personalities that are expressed through fashion, and embracing the differences in everyone’s individual style and identity. We Are Now, We Are Bold, We Are Fit, We Are Free – We Are USA. We are boohoo!
I looooooove the concept of this campaign since I am all about being unique through my style.

I wasn't quite aware that many companies in the USA offer employees the option of finishing work early on a Friday. How cool is that? Japan has to start providing this awesome system to employees! haha So based on this, I was asked to share how I spend my Summer Fridays/weekends doing. Can you guess what it is? Well here you go!

"My Summer Fridays list is actually blowing up with some new things I want to try this summer! Standup paddle surfing, rock hopping, go camping for a breathtaking star gazing, and a weekend mini road trip with my besties! Also, I am so excited to make plants to visit “Wide Waves” as I have not been there in a lounge time, maybe since my teenage years! I will definitely rock BooHoo bikini there!"

For this campaign, I chose a super summery jungle print bikini and double horn necklace. I like rocking a bikini with some accessories to glam up and play with! Whenever you wear a swimsuit, you need to have a cover up 1) you can protect your skin from a longer exposure to the sun and 2) you can camouflage any not-quite-bikini-ready areas. That's why I picked a crochet lace top for my perfect cover up, but then I can also wear this top for the daily basis. You probably know by now that I am such a hat person, and this oversized straw floppy hat is so perfect for a beach attire. I love soaking up in the sun, but gotta protect my mermaid hair from it. I am glad with how the hat contrasts with my hair and gives more chic vibe to a jungle print bikini!
boohoo has an amazing selection of cute, gorgoues, killer, fun swimsuits with such an affordable price, so make sure to check them out because summer is not over YET!

Hope you like what I chose to enjoy my Summer Fridays!
How would you guys spend? Have a lovely weekend, cutie pies!

Hi LOVEs!!! Happy Monday!
I've been feeling super fresh and inspired lately because Seattle's weather has been soooooo lovely for the last several days! I didn't even need a jacket yesterday! It's kinda sad to know that the weather has such a profound effect on your mood... I should have considered that before I decided to move seattle, huh? haha
Anyway, I am REALLY excited to welcome spring soon and to enjoy these fabulous warm and sunny days!

So today's look is another oldie! But bear with me, I have a reason, of course! I hope you remember that I did a style challenge back in 2012, styling a night-out dress from Tracyeinny in 5 ways, and I am sharing the 4th look!

Unlike the first, second and third look, I decided to wear the dress as a skirt under some simple layers. Since the dress has a collar accent, I chose a sheer shirt to cover it and layered a sweater on top. I love how this transformation of a dress worked out for a totally different ensemble.  I actually try this styling method quite often and I am always fascinated by the outcome.  I always enjoy adding a good hat, and a bowler hat is the perfect touch to create a preppy chic vibe. I wanted to be weather appropriate, and wearing sheer tights is the best to do it when you don't wanna show a lot of skin. I stock 5 pair of them because it's must for the winter season, and they are very thin and never strong enough to wear more than 4 times due to my long nails and because I always sport a bunch of lovely rings on my fingers :p

I will be sharing the last look later this week or early next week! Stay tuned :)
By the way, this #NYFW atmosphere is personally happening for me right now here in Seattle. Though I can only be there in spirit, I am still hugely influenced to wear fashion week inspired looks lately. So the next outfit will be all about how I would be rocking it if I were there now!

Have a wonderful new week, loves! ♥

Hi LOVEs!!! I hope your week has been going awe-some so far!!! <3

Who loves '(faux) leather'??  ME! Who adores 'overalls'?? ME! So who's more than happy if they are all combined? Yes, me! lol

I am so pleased to now own one of the pieces I've been having my eyes on, which is a

faux leather overall dress

! I got it from a cool online store called

Petit Sesame

, where you can buy a wide selection of luxury yet affordable designer items.

This overall dress is simply so cute because I can be effortlessly chic once I put it on. These straps are adjustable so it can fit perfectly on any girl, even like myself as a petite gal. I appreciate it has pockets (Three!), so I could just wear it for running errands or getting a quick coffee with my phone and credit card or cash, while remaining little stylish :)

I wanted to go for a completely winter preppy chic, so I styled it with a navy striped turtle neck and

over-the-knee boots

. These items are always perfect to achieve a preppy look during this season! Then, I put on a gray beret hat with hair tucked in the sweater to play up the vibe. Even though it was pretty warm on the day I wore this look, I needed an outerwear for a chill night. I chose my pastel biker jacket to brighten up the mostly all-black look and also match with my

new icy blue mini bag

! I just can't get over when my jacket and a bag are complementing their color with each other.

I can't wait for a warmer wether to style this overall dress showing off my skins more!

Petit Sesame

is now offering up to 80% off right now, so don't miss this perfect time to snag some of fab designers item including my

lovely faux overall dress

!

I hope you like/love how I styled it!

Hi LOVEs!!!!

Hope your new week kicked off well! I was feeling under the weather yesterday, so mine started not as I expected staying at home whole day, but that helped me charge up a lot to go through this crazy busy week!

I think you know me now that my style is very unique and versatile influenced by American culture and Japanese culture where I am originally from. And my style goal is to pull off any kind of outfits from grunge and rock to chic and feminine. Since my hair is silver now, I wanted to take advantage of it to go for a grunge look again, which I haven't dressed up for a long time! I wore this look as my #OOTN for going out with my friends, but I realized it definitely works for a day look!

Plaid items are always perfect to create a grunge/rock style and can't get enough of how they can instantly add a pop of color to the look! Luckily I had this super lovely plaid peacoat! It's old but I can't get rid of this old cute number! So I created this look around it. I am a kind of girl who wears shorts during winter. Yes, some people probably call me crazy. Yet if you layer with tights and over the knee socks, you rock on! To emphasize the vibe, I purposely put on a suspender hanging down and paired with chunky platform shoes with lots of silver jewelry! I picked

wide brimmed hat recently got from

Romwe

and

dark toned red lip glaze from

AVEDA

as my finishing touch!

Do you like grunge looks?

Have a wonderful day beauties! ♥

Hi LOVEs! Happy Friday!!!!

Now that everywhere is decorated with those lovely colorful holiday lights and all those delightful Xmas songs that make your hart dance are playing wherever you go, it's time to think about how you wanna dress up for the holidays!

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving, and I would love to wear this again with a few twists added when I attend a holiday party or celebrate the holidays! I love dressing up more girly during this season. It boosts my inner femininity and helps me smile more! A fun printed midi skirt and delightful party shoes are definitely a great combo for any occasion, day or night, and I haven't worn such an eye-catchy vintage skirt for quite some time. Look how lovely it is! I feel a little wasteful because I had forgotten that I had this skirt in my closet, haha. So glad to bring it back to life!

What I tend to do as the holidays approach is I hunt for an amazing pair of shoes that can brighten up my look and my days. I can't find the exact words to describe how happy I am now to finally pick up these oh-so-adorable

bow ankle strap pumps from

ShoeDazzle

! I've seen people wearing  these heels on the street and in fashion pictures, and I'd been dying to add them to my shoe collection. Needless to say, I've caught a lot of people's eyes thanks to these babes!

I styled them up with a

black turtle neck sweater

, which is my current No.1 favorite versatile top, and kept the color theme going with a back jacket and bag to make the skirt and shoes pop. My seasonal look can't be completed without a hat, so I added this cozy white beret for a brighter touch. Nothing better than with a little bling, right? I adore these gold bar backdrop pearl earrings thanks to

ShopRoxx

!

Speaking a little bit of holiday makeup, I am currently obsessed with the new

NARS

eye shadow palette and eyeliner that I was gifted from them

. One of my favorite eye shadow colors is purple, and this was the perfect chance to try their shade of purple with a mix of silver. Their eyeliner is amazingly easy to create dramatically elevated eye effects!! The best thing about the eyeliner is that it has micro-pearls of blue, purple, green and gold suspended in its jet black color! Let's shine even more girls!

How will you dress up for your holidays?

Have a wonderful and fun TGIF sweeties!

Hi LOVEs!

Happy Hump day! Hope your day is going well so far!

I mentioned a few posts back that my parents and grandpa came to visit Seattle last month for the first time ever, and the days I spent with them were incredibly amazing and fun! I was especially happy to see my 79 year old grandpa, who remains so healthy and active, and I was very impressed that he is super adventurous, and a big eater!!!! No wonder he is still full of vitality! I wished they could have stayed longer or that I could have gone back to Japan with them...

My mom and I are very alike. I love giving people a surprise, and I think I inherited that personality trait from my mom.

During my parents' stay we were strolling around downtown Seattle and I saw a very lovely window display at

LOFT

While I looked at the display  I was muttering, "Omg! These heart print tops are so cute!" My mom heard what I said and asked me, "Which ones, which ones? :)" I pointed at the display and added "I can't buy them anyway, so let's go!" We walked away at the time. A few days later, while we were on the way back to their hotel, which was located in DT Settle, my mom told me, "I kinda want to look around the shops, so go ahead to the hotel first..." She refused when I asked to shop together. I wondered why she suddenly wanted to go shopping but rejected me going with her. After 30 mins or so, she came back to the hotel empty handed!  It was very weird that even after she said she wanted to shop she ended up not getting anything at all!

However, she totally tricked me, because she wanted to surprise me at the airpot. As I was seeing them off, my mom handed me a cute bag!! Yes!!!!! It was a gift of those heart printed tops I saw in  the display window the other day!! She also included a Starbucks gift card! I opened the bag when I got home, and needless to say I burst into tears and was full of appreciation and love! I was hugging the clothes with happy tears for a long time.

So that's the sweet story behind this outfit, as I am wearing one of those

heart print tops

that she gifted me. Not to mention, I LOVE THIS SWEATER SO MUCH! Not only because it's a gift from my mom, but because it's also super soft and warm yet effortlessly chic. The heart design is amazingly playful and the sweater's color is my favorite color for fall -- navy. Everything about it is just superb! If I don't have time in the morning but still want to be so stylish, this top is the perfect solution! I throw it on with a skinny and heels, and I am good to go!

I kept it in the same color family by wearing a denim skirt that I DIYed to create a distressed skirt, but I spiced things up with

my new pink fedora

and

metallic lace-up heels

. These ones are my current obsessions right now! The cuteness of the sweater naturally prompted me to do a side fish-braided hair to give extra appealing to the look, and these real stone rings that are also gifts from my mom don't overpower the look, yet they dazzle on my hands!

I will share a look with the other heart print top with you guys soon! Stay tuned!

What's your surprise gifts from your mom that you love at the most?

Hi LOVEs!
So...today is actually the official day of fall!!!! Whoo hoo! Are you guys all excited? It's time for a lot of layers and Spice Pumpkin Latte and Salted Caramel Mocha! (My favorite coffee for the season!) Oh and you can't forget about hats, too! Well... at least to me!
I can't believe that we only have few more months left this year, I feel like I just celebrated 2014 a couple of months ago. Time definitely flies, but let's enjoy each moment of your life with smiles <3

Today's look is something that I've always wanted to try for a long time, but it seemed to never happen till now!
Yes, ALL BLACK ensemble!
Since Fashion Week is still going on, and that keeps me so excited thinking of what I would want to wear even though I obviously can't go. Then, this looks was came up in mind as I was looking through for some inspirations, and I love it so much!
You know, I am more of a color-lover, but an all black ensemble never lets you look unstylish and adds a lot of sophistication and edginess. On top of that, I RARELY wear flats, so another new thing here is 'how to rock in them.' To achieve that, I tried to draw attention away from my short legs by wearing a hat and a cropped top and showing off a bit of my stomach. Also wearing all black or same hues helps to create "I line" silhouette to look slimmer and elongate your leg lines. A pop of color is always a great addition to compliment your look. I decided to pair it with this gorgeous statement drop earrings (They are really heavy by the way, but that's not discouraging me to wear them at all!) and my current favorite fall red lips, SANDRA from NARS Audacious Lipstick collection.

I hope I can try all black attires again this fall and winter because it's just really fun to put together! How would you rock the outfit?

On my personal note, I am going to Robert Leonard Salon & Spa this afternoon to get my hair done and also to try out other severs they offer! I am sooooo thrilled for the new change of myself, just in time for the season change! In case you wonder, please follow me on Instagram to see what will happen there!

Have a lovely day, sweeties

Hi LOVEs! Happy Friday!
Now I have to admit that burgundy and nave blue, together is one of my ultimate favorite color combos for fall! I love how the colors give a modern, chic and even a richer touch to an outfit. Burgundy is such a gorgeous color thanks to it's deep wine red hue, it's an earthy earthy color that works perfectly for the season, and it's a lovely color for an accent that adds depth to an ensemble with its sophistication. The color can be incorporated with other fall colors like gray, camel and of course black. On top of that, it's effortlessly coordinates with whatever you already own. What's your favorite combination color with burgundy?

My feelings have been complicated these past few weeks because on the one hand  I am kind of brought down by the the gloomy days of late (yes, I definitely miss the bright sun already!), but one the other hand I am more than pleased to rock the defining  colors of autumn and get cozy with layers! Recently Ryan, one of my good friends who I met through Instagram, sent a bunch of amazing fall pieces from Charlotte Russe as a final package while he worked there. (So sad, but I am very happy about his new journey, and now he is working for Betabrand!) When I opened the package, he totally WOWed me and today's ensemble immediately came to mind when I saw them - a burgundy lace crop top, light wash jeans, cascade aztec cardigan sweater, and some killer jewelry!

I modeled  one of the trends this F/W, which is Bright Color, in my previous post, and another seasonal trend I am totally into and definitely want to try is VICTORIANA -- laces, collar necklaces, dark sides/goths, and chunky boots... I think you can see a little bit of that vibe in this look, and I LOVE IT! Since I wanted to achieve more of a casual look, pairing light color denim is the right pick. This cascade cardigan sweater, oh my gosh. How chic and fun is that? Plus, it's amazingly warm! I am very fascinated with the fisherman's cap that totally matches with the cardigan as my finishing touch.

I am mainly a very enthusiastic and lively person, yet it's definitely fun to reveal my dark side through fashion. Fall is the perfect season to do that, and wearing dark lips really conveys that vibe. That's why I love fashion so much and like to keep my style versatile because I can be anything I want to be!
I recently found the perfect dark lipstick called  SANDRA from NARS, and their new lip collection - Audacious Collection - is something you don't wanna miss out on. The collection is mind blowing, especially with the vast amount of beautiful colors that literally makes me want to try each one! Personally I really love how my lips feel with their lipstick, it's smoother than any other lipstick I have. If interested, click HERE to read my article about the collection.

I hope you enjoy today's burgundy and my first look with a Victorian vibe! I am about to go get some brunch with my friend at a shabu shabu restaurant -- yummy huh? Then, off to my second round of shopping for tomorrow's Downtown Seattle Rock the Runway
Wishing you a very fun weekend, cuties!

Hi LOVEs!
I am so sad that the summr is getting close to the end. I still have tons of summer activities in mind that I haven't done yet... I am seriously not ready for the summer to be over! Hopefully I will be able to spend some quality time at Alki Beach soon, one of my favorite spots in Seattle!

It's all about the combination of my favorite pieces today! I got this lovely gingham print skirt from ASOS in early June, and I love waring it as a dress more than as-is. If you remember, I rocked a look as a dress a while ago, and this is another way I styled it up as a dress. If you are a petite, like me, it can be hard to find the perfect comfy dress. This one can totally solve that problem! This is the only gingham printed piece that I have in my closet, and I am very pleased how the print makes me feel extra girly and chic. It even adds some playful, but retro elegance touch. How can you not love a piece that keeps you cool from the remaining summer heat while looking super stylish?
I've been so in love with this straw boater hat ever since I snagged at H&M it awhile back. I think as much as I love a baseball cap, this hat is my top favorite summer hat for sure. Oh and it's very practical!! The mix of this ht and the dress is just so lovely.
You have no idea how many times I've worn these awesome studded white sandals over the past few months. I got them from ALDO last year and didn't have a chance to wear as many times as I wanted. I am a complete sucker for shoes that have WOW elements and details, and these gold studs definitely make the sandals a statement. With the bloke heels, there is no worrying about stability walking around, and even running to catch a bus! What a dream pair!
This time I decided to pair a black patent belt to match with the black ribbon on the hat, then finish the look with the light blue mini cross-body bag (to compliment the same hue of the dress) with some gold jewelry. Nothing is incorporated for fall inspirations, but this look really overjoyed me and gives a little bit of end-of-summer fun!

Wishing you cuties a very beautiful day!
