Blush Slip Dress & Half-Up Top Knot

Hi LOVEs! I hope you all had an amazing 4th of July with your friends and family!
I must apologize that I haven’t posted for more than a week! Last Wednesday, at my friend’s birthday party, I cut my hand while holding an avocado on my hand (I should have used a cutting board, how silly) The wound required 3 stitches and a trip to Urgent Care! I almost fainted…haha. I still have the stitches in my hand and the two fingers are tied in a bandage! Although I don’t feel any pain, I just wanted to focus on resting well because it was pretty bad..!!

Seattle is so beautiful right now with the gorgeous summer weather and perfect temperature! I just can’t get enough of the days when I can simply sit on the porch, sip my favorite soda and enjoy the beauty of it all. However, as you know, the weather in the PNW is still quite moody, and I wore this look on one of those 90-and-under days.

Having a slip dress is no doubt a game changer in summer. Of course, you would be more drawn to a cute off-the-shoulder dress or bright sun dress. Yet, slip dresses give you countless wardrobe options in more effortless ways. I love its simplicity and it still gives that effortless chic vibe with just the right dose of lusciousness. You can easily layer it as well by wearing a simple tee underneath or wear it as a perfect summer minimal dress. You could also throw a bomber jacket or long cardigan over to change things up, which I will show you soon here on the blog!

I am wearing a ZARA asymmetric slip dress (similar HERE & HERE ) and have paired it with a long sleeve crop top because it was so chilly. I would totally swap it for a simple white tee when the temperature rises. As I wore this look for a picnic by the water, I opted for a pair of sneakers for a more casual feel. Whenever I am going for sneakers or flat shoes, I always focus on overall proportion, because I can’t add any height. Instead of putting on a belt, I added a Nordstrom Rack denim jacket tied up around my waist to create an effect of “high-waisted.” This way, you can add layers at night as the air gets a bit cooler.

Now this is one of my go-to hair styles. I love soft curled and half-up top knot hair at the moment. It’s so easy, simple, and creates a charming hair style. It also comes across like you actually do something with your hair, even if you haven’t washed it in three days. If you have long hair like me, this hair may not be an ideal hair style on a day over 90 degrees, but sometimes you know the rule, “being stylish requires endurance.” But trust me, this could be one of the prettiest hairdos on a pool day or at the beach!!
